RESEARCH
I gained a newfound love for research during my time in graduate school at Gaylord College, the University of Oklahoma. My primary research interests lie within journalism, specifically looking at burnout and well-being among journalists. Generation Z and social media are my secondary research interests.

My master's thesis (which I consider one of the works I'm most proud of!) examined burnout among Generation Z television journalists. I conducted interviews with 25 Gen Z TV journalists are produced recommendations for newsroom leaders and journalism educators to more effectively alleviate burnout among television journalists.

Burnout Among Gen Z Journalists
Research Featured on CBS News Detroit
I was invited to share the findings of my thesis research on CBS News Detroit in July 2024, which was just a couple of weeks after my successful defense.
University of Oklahoma Three Minute Thesis Finalist
I made it into the Top 10 in the University of Oklahoma's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition as one of the few competitors who qualified as a master's student and with a research proposal. The last time my college had a student represent in the 3MT finals was 6-7 years before me.
Award-Winning Research
In my two short years in the master's program, I presented and won several awards for my work at numerous journalism and mass communication conferences, including the annual Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication conferences. I have also been invited to serve as an expert on several conference panels.
